EQ And You: The Science of Emotions in Real Life EQ And You is an interactive, science-informed workshop that helps high school students understand how emotions actually work—inside the brain, the body, and everyday decision-making. Designed as a live, virtual experience with in-room participation, this workshop blends neuroscience, movement, and experiential learning to make emotional intelligence tangible, memorable, and immediately relevant. Across four structured learning segments, students actively explore: Body & Brain — how emotions show up physically and why regulation starts with awareness Motivation & Reward Systems — understanding impulse, delayed gratification, and choice Thoughts + Emotions — recognizing how thought patterns influence emotional states Resilience & Anchoring — learning practical strategies to reset, refocus, and recover Through short instructional videos, guided discussion, and interactive games such as Signal Switch, The Reward Chase, Thought Spiral, and Happy Button, students move, collaborate, reflect, and apply concepts in real time. Each activity is intentionally followed by debriefs and recaps that help students connect the experience to school, work, relationships, and personal goal-setting. The workshop is fast-paced, engaging, and accessible for all learners—balancing evidence-based concepts with playful participation to keep students focused and involved. Teachers serve as in-room partners, helping bridge the virtual facilitation with live student engagement and reinforcing a shared learning environment. EQ And You is facilitated by Emotional Theater’s professional teaching artists and designed to complement academic and career-readiness goals while building durable skills that support long-term success. Ideal as a standalone experience or as a foundational companion to Level Up: People Skills for the Real-World Workplace, EQ And You helps students understand themselves first—so they can show up more effectively everywhere else.
